Volunteer
“Just because you can’t do everything, doesn’t mean you don’t do anything”
-Madeleine Albright
Livingstone Landowners Group is a a non profit registered society that relies on volunteers to function. We welcome members involvement with our many initiatives and activities. Ways to contribute include:
Time Contribution: We are always looking for assistance organizing and hosting LLG educational and fundraising events, contributing to our Website, Facebook or Instagram with photos or articles of interest or stepping forward for the board of directors as a board member or for an executive position.
Expertise Contribution: Whether from a present or previous career or from a particular interest and knowledge base, we appreciate any contribution of time and resource you may be able to provide in such areas as range management, ecology, communications and computer expertise, environmental law or resource management.
Financial Contribution: With the reasonably priced life time membership, LLG relies heavily on fundraising events and donations to fund work we undertake. We sponsor educational events and we hire experts and scientists when necessary to insure accuracy of our information, position and communication on issues we are involved with. This takes money. For example, we have engaged a mining engineer to review and identify any deficiencies in the recent Benga Mining Ltd submission regarding the Grassy Mountain Mine Proposal. Our written feedback to the Joint Review Board in May must provide credible, science based comments or concerns. We are now fundraising to hire health experts to assess Community Health Risks associated with Benga’s submission and the proposed mine.
We are working in conjunction with the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) and other stakeholders to share the financial burden but General or Mine specific donations to LLG can be made here
We appreciate any assistance, big or small you can provide to our group.
